Privacy

The short version: most ClipDrive tools run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere. The AI-powered tools send your input to a server only at the moment you press generate. There is no account to create either way.

Two kinds of tools, two different answers

This distinction matters more than any promise we could make, so it is the first thing on this page. Every tool page says which kind it is before you type anything into it.

Browser-only tools

Calculators, counters, checkers, previewers and downloaders run entirely on your own device. When you paste a script into the length calculator or choose an image in the thumbnail tester, that content is processed locally and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. Close the tab and it is gone. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and these tools still work — which is the simplest proof of the claim.

AI-powered tools

Tools marked AI cannot work locally: a language model has to run the request. When — and only when — you deliberately press generate, the text you submitted is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, forwarded to OpenAI, and the result is returned to your browser.

What we do with it: nothing beyond answering that one request. Your script is not written to any database, is not kept after the response is returned, and is not used to train anything. The request to OpenAI is sent with retention disabled, so it is not stored on their side for training or history either. Our operational logs record that a generation happened, how long it took and roughly how many tokens it used — never the text itself.

To keep the free daily limit honest we need to recognise repeat requests. A one-way hashed identifier derived from the IP address is used for quota enforcement: only that identifier is stored, with the day's count against it. The raw IP address is never written down, and the identifier expires on its own at the end of the day.

What we do collect

Basic, aggregate usage: which pages are visited and which tools are opened or completed. That tells us what to build next. It never includes what you typed, uploaded, calculated or generated — the analytics layer actively refuses any event carrying that kind of content.

We do not set advertising cookies of our own, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell data.

Advertising

This site will carry display advertising in fixed slots. Ad networks may set their own cookies and collect data under their own policies, which we do not control. Ads never appear above a tool or between you and a result.

Links to other sites

Some links go to third-party providers, and some of those earn us a commission — always marked, and listed on the disclosure page. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Local storage

One preference is remembered in your browser: whether you chose light or dark mode. It stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date below changes with it. Questions go to contact.
